A Trip to Beijing

Beijing, our capital city, is famous for its long history. Last summer holiday, my family took a trip to Beijing by plane. It was a meaningful journey.

In the morning, we went to the Great Wall. It is one of the greatest wonders in the world. Its magnificence left a deep impression on me. I learned that the Great Wall was built to defend against invasions and it represents the blood and wisdom of many people.

After that, we visited the Forbidden City, which is an incredible palace where Chinese emperors used to live. It's called "forbidden" because regular people weren't allowed inside for a really long time. The palace is full of history and beautiful architecture.

In the afternoon, we went to the Summer Palace. There are many interesting sites, such as Wanshou Mountain, Kunming Lake, Suzhou Street, and some other ancient palaces. We climbed Wanshou Mountain first, and the view from the top was wonderful. Next, we went boating on Kunming Lake, and then walked on the Suzhou Street, where we tasted some delicious Beijing snacks.

Finally, we went to the Palace Museum, which has a vast collection of ancient Chinese artifacts. It was amazing to see so many precious historical relics.

Our trip to Beijing was filled with history, culture, and fun. I love you, Beijing!
